suspension height
« on: September 19, 2006 - 10:53:36 PM »
I'm looking at my 70 Challenger RT 440 tonight and notice that the rear end is sitting lower than the front.  It's on level ground and no load.  How and where do I check the suspension height and what should it be?  I'm not sure if the rear is low or the front is high.  I know how to adjust the front height but how do I adjust the rear?  New leafs?
Thanks for any help

New leafs are the only good way of raising the rear.  It is possible to use air shocks and add extra psi to raise the rear, but I would not suggest doing that.  Also do not get the leafs from Mopar Performance because they are known to sag after a short while.

I would not recommend the airshock route. I am in the middle of removing them and installing a standard gas charged shock cause I can't stand the ride of the airshock.

Looks like I'll be replacing the springs - but NOT from Mopar Perfotmance!  I have a 440 6 pack.  What springs should I use and what is a good source?   :dunno:
Thanks
