1973 cuda chrome sport mirror help?
« on: September 27, 2006 - 10:52:45 AM »
Hi
Can anyone help?
I won 2 seperate chrome mirrors for my 73 cuda on Ebay - from 2 different people. After having em shipped to england I have found they are both different to each other and also different to the ones currently on my car- One of the ebay ones has a single screw fixing - I believe this is incorrect for my car - It also has the following numbers on the base- 3548617 53093    60394   and  6jc2 printed on the glass

The other ebay one has 2 screw fixing holes and the numbers 354873      53093    and  60432 401   and 1jc1 on the glass

any help greatly appreciated!

regards

mark

The first pic is a 70-76 A-body mirror. The mirror head is the same for 70 only E-body. Only the base is different.
Cant kill the mean and ugly. Only the good die young...I plan to be here a while!!

The top mirror isn't for an E-Body, but the head is correct for a 71-74 E-Body. So you just need a different base now.

One has a "flat" area around the opening where the glass sits - the other is totally smooth- so which head is right?
Thaks again

Mark,

I'm sorry, I thought I was looking at a mirror for both sides of the car. Are these both driver's side mirrors?

Here is a picture of a 71 left mirror if it will help.I believe the previous poster is correct the single screw mirror is a A-body mirror. You could change the base to use it on a 71-74.  That is a PG Classic repop in the pictures, nice chrome but not a great fit.
