440 water pump housing
« on: October 02, 2006 - 03:08:10 AM »
I bought an aluminum water pump from mancini and after looking at my housing and busting a few bolt heads I decided to get an aluminum housing too. The pictures of the aftermarket housings look different then mine. Must be something I don't know?

Your old one is for a right side suction, the one in the picture is the left suction type. I believe that trucks used the RH suction but not positive. If you use the one from Mancini you will need to make sure your radiator is setup that way as well. All the big blocks including 426 hemi share the same water pump housing.

Great.  I have two 26 inch radiators with the bottom connection on the passenger side. Guess I'll just try and salvage my old housing. Thanks for your input.

the right side pump that you have was used 73 & up on all applications , the left side was the early style 72 & earlier

Thanks. I suppose I can still get a 73 & up somewhere.
