Hood Molding
« on: October 13, 2006 - 10:44:10 AM »
I had my car repainted a few years ago and I didn't have them put on all the trim at that time.  I've reached the point I've been putting back on the little trim I didn't have on it before and found I can't find two of the parts.  The trim I'm looking for is the molding that went between the hood and the windshield.  I have the long peice that fits on the hood but I can't find the two little peices that fit on the fenders.  Any suggestions outside of ebay on where to find this part?   :worshippy

They are pretty darn scarce. E-Bay is your only option, but this might take you a while.  :sadwavey:

This isn't the windshield trim.  It is trim that goes on the hood and fenders were the windshield wiper space is.  I know the pieces are rare since a friend tried to talk me into letting him have it back in 1997 because he'd been looking for those pieces for a few years.   Since they were original to the car I wanted to keep them.

:clueless: I found what appears to be what I want on Ebay.  The title is:

Mopar SE Challenger Cowl hood edge molding

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mopar-SE-Challenger-Cowl-hood-edge-molding_W0QQitemZ300036902756QQihZ020QQcategoryZ33654QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Any body know if they are doing any repo's on this item? I wasn't able to see a picture of the item and I don't know if it was me or they just didn't put on out there.

It's not you. They didn't attach a picture to the auction. It sounds like what you need, but I would want to see it given that starting bid and shipping rate they placed in the ad.   :22yikes:  :22yikes:  :22yikes:

 Yes.  I have the hood piece but not the two pieces that go on the fenders.  The person on Ebay selling the parts only has the hood piece.  That’s what I have and its in very good shape.  Any ideas where I can get those two pieces? :chatting:

I do not know of it being reproduced.  I would post a wanted ad on CC, Moparts and other sites.  Watch those and Ebay and it will come up.  It was a trim option that was part of the SE package, but could be ordered separately.  I'm sure others on here can suggest other sites for a wanted ad.
