1970 console for trade
« on: April 15, 2007 - 08:20:08 PM »
I have a 1970 console in my Challenger.  It is not original, it has a touch of dark green showing through some spots of normal wear.  I need a '71 to 74 console.  My console has a crack in the thin spot where most of them crack.  Has about a 1/4" hole in the front where a tach was.  Where the seat belt holder thing is in the back, there is a spot cracked out, too.  Just wondering if someone wants to trade or buy it.  Thanks!

PS, I need a console in very good condition.  No cracks is pretty much a must.  Normal wear is ok, it dont have to be perfect.

Hmmm, I dont really know.  Do you want some pics?  I'll get some pics and I'll email them to you if you send me your email.  Make me an offer from there.  I didnt plan on selling it outright, I'll have to find one to replace it.  I got my eye on one on ebay, hopefully I'll get that one.   :2thumbs:

Just for my own education what is the difference between 70 and 71 consoles? I know the 70 did not have an ashtray but didn't the factory just add the ashtray to the 70 console? I have both and have never noticed a difference  :dunno:  I have never looked real close though.

The 70 console top plate had 4 screw holes, and the later years had 5.

Bump, I'll throw in some cash because of the condition mine is in for a real good 71-74, just no cracks or holes.
