I ended up with the tips.  They had been polished with steel wool in their past.  Probably before Stroker ended up with them.  My intention was to restore them and rechrome them.  They were rust free which is what I needed.  He gave me a good deal and I am happy with them.  I have fixed worse than yours.  You can reweld those and have them rechromed.  A custom bike shop will either do small parts or know where to have them done.  My shop has me separate the chrome boxes from the rest of the unit.  They charge me $25 a box to rechrome them as long as I have the metal ready to go. I then have to weld the chome boxes back on.  I can do a set of tips for $100 and they are as good factory chrome tips.

Glad they found a good home.  I will  "make do" for a while with a little patching and not much showing out of the rear valence!!!!  The $100 is not bad considering the prices of new ones :swear: :money:
