identify this flash cannister
« on: October 24, 2006 - 03:50:27 PM »
I allready replaced the 2 prong flasher, and my turnsignals don't flash, but my hazards do. Was wondering if this thing has any to do with it. If not what is it for? This is from a 72 Challenger.

I've never replaced my flasher cannister, so I will assume you did the right thing here so far. My next suspect would be your turn signal switch in the steering column.

There are 2 flashers and 1 smaller relay w/3 prongs for key in ignition lights.  Hope this helps take a good look under there.  You didn't post the picture.

Yes an picture would have been nice.
So, I changed the 2 prong flasher and you are telling me there is one more flasher and one more relay?
I would like to attend to these before taking apart the steering column, so if you you tell me where that relay is and what this thingy is, I think I will be on my way.

thanks!

the 4 way flasher should eb near the steering column , the turn signal flasher should eb clipped onto the side of the ashtray housing , the 3 prong is the ign switch light delay unit & is not a flasher at all

The flasher on my '73 Chally was up under the dash next to the glovebox.  The picture above looks like a condenser or noise suppressor for the radio.
