LCA bushing sleeve binding? Does it matter?
« on: October 27, 2006 - 09:08:04 AM »
i was able to use get the LCA bushings pressed out last night... I used a pipe to press out the pivot are and heated up the bushing and pop it out.. LOL!
Actually it worked very well... but I noticed another problem now!

The Drvs side pivot arm bushing sleeve is bent and the sleeve curls down under the lip of the LCA sleeve after as you turn the TB arm around. It still has enough free travel to make it about 90 degrees but after about half a turn it starts to bind... Would this matter or should I replace the sleeve??
It seems as like the direction of the torsion bar would be in the opposite direction of the bind and it wouldn't matter but I don't know :clueless:

OH.. I think the dumb @$$ at the auto shop I took it too bend it in using his press trying to get the pivot arm out before he gave up! UGH!  :villagers: Once I borrowed a press it only took me about 10 minutes!!

if you are using poly bushings it "should " be ok ,hard to tell without a pic , if you are using rubber bushings the sleeve will be replaced anywAY
