Oppinions Shortblock stroker
« on: October 27, 2006 - 12:41:48 AM »
I am thinking of possibly buying this and throwing the engine together and setting aside my numbers engine to my car so I can fully restore it later when I am older and can afford a show quality restoration.    http://www.crateengine.net/340416.html

That's a lot of money for what you get. The picture shows it as an MP shortblock. There's has no cam, timing cover, timing set, or anything other than the block and rotating assembly. With the oil pan package, and cam/timing set package, you're looking at $4K for a shortblock. That's $1500 more than a similar setup I priced earlier for similar parts.

Where did you get your quote for your setup? I am just starting to toss out ideas as the time comes closer that I will be having more money to put into my car after I pay a few things off coming up in the near future.
