Factory rear Shocks

what kind of Factory rear Shocks came on the challenger?

gas, air, etc

nope just plain Hyd shocks , no gas or air ,addding newer shock improves the handling for obvious reasons

one this I noticed years ago were the air shocks.  many e bodies have them, and the shrader/air imput valve is always in the same location on all the car...that I have seen.  so I wondered if there was an option or such

Yeah,

  I know what you are talking about. I had air-shocks on my car for a year or so, and that location seemed to just present itself.  I agree with Chryco though, it's better to get rear leaf springs that give you the lift you want. A MUCH better ride too.

good to know.  will likely go with the shocks untill things are closer to fished then look into springs.

I removed the air-shocks from my Chally and installed KYB gascharged. I'd have to say that I'm abit dissapointed. First, the ride doesn't seem any different, still fairly harsh on the speed bumps. It's hard to say how handling was effected cause I replaced the front shocks at the same time. And I had to lower the front end abit cause the rear end dropped about 1 1/2" with the KYB's and I wanted the rake to look good. Also, the rear now scrapes on certain bumps. Maybe a new set of leafs are in order, but anyways. Anyone interested in an almost new set of rear KYB's?
