B5,  interesting read. I had almost the exact same thing happen to me 4-5 years ago with a 73 'cuda 340 4speed shell from Ed Briggs in Colorado.  funny how the excuses were similar too. after a few years, the FBI and local CO police, I got all but ~$200 back. Sad as all I ever wanted was the car !  I still want that shell  :swear:

Anyone buy a black '73 'cuda 340 4speed shell from Ed Briggs a few years back ??? I would love to know what ever happened to it.

I just have to say this................... I live in Canada and would never even consider buying a car, even in the US, without flying down to look at it. I would ensure that the hauling company only gives the fellow the check upon receipt of the car. You can use reputable companies as a go between in some of these cases. My friend drove all the way to South Texas with a trailer (to pick up an EBay 65 Chevelle) and found the car to be absolute junk. Needless to say he came home with an empty trailer. My point here is spend the extra money, get on a big plane and go verify, receive, make sure etc. In this case it would have been better to receive than to give. You will spend piles of money to get refunded (plus commissions to any debt collector who wants this one), to get, if at all, the money back.

Sad story, but folks please learn from this. We want everyone who wants a Mopar to have one without these hassles.
