Challenger hood popping up

Is it just me or do others have problems with the hood constantly raising up a little by the windshield I remember my 1970 having the same problem. I am constantly pushing it back down.

on older cars like these I've always shut them in increments, kinda up and down see-saw action 6'' or so at a time as you shut them down. seems like just pulling 'em down in one motion puts a strain on them that causes the lifting.

Try adjusting your hinges, start with the lowest setting in the rear two  closest to the fire wall and raise the front of the hood untill the front bolt is midway, this will lower rear of the hood to the rubber stops at the cowl when closed.

I was actually going to ask about this too.  I'm having the hardest time getting my Cuda's hood to sit without the back popping up.  No matter what adjustments I do, it always seems to have this play.  Is this a sign that my hinges are bad?  I spent about 5 hours fooling around with the hinges this afternoon, and didn't get anywhere.  I managed to get the gaps all straight, and the hood when it is pushed down is even around the edges, but it has upwards play.

It sounds like your hinges need rebuilt to take the "play" out of them.  Then they won't pop up in the back.

Farmboy has it right , raise the front of the hinge , loosen all 3 bolts & have some lift the front of the hood until the bolt is near the middle of the front slot & tighten it up , the hood should pull down level when closed

All I had to do was put a little oil on my hinges.
