73 Cuda 340 4 speed......shifter options
« on: December 11, 2006 - 09:11:08 PM »
Got  my  car  as a pile  of  parts....in  that  pile  a  Hurst  shifter but  the  shifter  stick  is  too tall as in  it  collides  with the wheel  when  you  try to go into  reverse,  must  be from  a bench  seat  car? Besides  a 'pistol grip"  what  other  stick   do folks  out there  use.  I'm  looking  at a 7 1/2"  tall Hurst  stick  in the Summit racing  catalogue (then  use  a 'T' handle  with the  line lock button)  that  might  fit....thoughts....thx

where does the sifter come through the floor ? some E bodys used a bench seat & had the shifter in the forward position & it sounds like that is where yours is if it can hit the steering wheel , if you leave the shufter there the B body bench seat pistol should be perfect fit

Got a photo? It sounds like a 1970 B-Body shifter.  :dunno:
