Is it true that the 4spd trans am cars had different internal parts,cluster and gears?---The Clown

Going from memory here, so feel free to correct me.....

They had a lower first gear.

They also were the first to use the 1971 and new style side cover and some internals.

I do not remember the exact differences.

the ratios were slightly different , they were the first to use the stronger wide groove syncro rings & Had the poorer IMO sode cover that used levers instead of the more positive ball detent system

The reason I am asking is that I have a main cluster gear that is out of a 4spd trans that was removed 20 years ago.And it was from a T/A challenger,I was gonna keep it as a mopar treasure on a shelf. But it might be more valuable to a person who needs one and I may place it up for sale.-----The Clown
