I think Jesse is OK, he just is life centered in his faith/belief and that is fine by me. But if religious beliefs become a daily discussion on this forum, and how many hundred different beliefs are there, then it would turn ugly quick. Hell, we have a hard time agreeing on paint color  and that is a narrow subject. He just got hurt a while back because he was asked/ told that this was not the place to discuss those issues. He's a young man, recently married, and is facing a harsh world where finances become harder and harder to deal with, and if your having budget problems the frustration of not having "fun" things like E-bods become a mill stone around you neck so to speak. I'm 60 years old but that has it's advantages, seeing the financial enviornment of today's world makes me glad I'm not attempting to start a family today, our young people have a difficult task ahead of them. Example: my first son was born in 1967, the hospital/doctor bill was barely over $500.00, depending where you live I'm sure it could easily be $10,000.00 today, and that's with no complications.

There are plenty of boards out there for religion and plenty for cars.  I'm part of both and most of the time, they stay seperate.  The religion board really doesn't care about cars and this site really doesn't want to talk about religion.  I have no problem with it.  I must say that the religion board is usually alot more heated than the car sites!

Pink and I met Jess at a car show, not a bad kid just a little distant like he had bigger things on his mind. Kinda dark to, he said he had a Cuda once which I took as he sold it some time ago.

I don't think religion had alot to do with his leaving like that. Some young people today take the world as corrupted and evil. Religion gives a path of understanding that can lead you in two direction, very optimistic or pessimistic.
I think he views pleasure in cars that way especially if he doesn't have one.
He doesn't want the pessimistic feeling in his mind anymore. I believe he still loves Mopars.
It's a little convoluted in most people thought process. But that ----> MHO

 
Jesse's big moment was to be driven off from his wedding in a mopar.  Him and his wife thought it was just great.

It called Moparus Lossaffectionitis.  A lethal virus that attacks those who do not have an ebody sitting in the garage.  Recovery (if you live), is very short when a shot of acceleration is applied to the back of the head from the headrest.

I can understand it...

if you really want something bad...and it happens to be an early e-body, the reality starts to sink in:
Crumbly project cars that can't be driven are 5 figure cars.
Then if you know anything about these cars you start adding up the cost of parts/services to turn it into something you'd be really proud of...

Doesn't take long to figure out why the nice ones are expensive and why you can't afford them.

That would be depressing and finally you just tell yourself...I really don't like 'em anymore.

Even though I do not know him I wish him all the best and good luck. We at times get disgusted with our cars, like my bolt breaking off in my new 340 as I'm almost done. We just have to walk away for a while and come back and finish things off. I don't think that there is anyone here who at one time or another was just frustrated with their cars. But there again when I jump into one of the cars and take it for a spin I have the desire to buy even more. It's an addiction and I hope that never get the cure.

   I agree with WSM.  Jesse's going through a lot right now.  He's young, lots of responsibilities being just married and all and Mopars, especially the one he really wants, are tough to come by right now due to $$$. 

He might be getting into the "sour grapes" defense mechanism:  if I can't have it, I didn't want it in the first place and don't need it now.  I get like that with cars I can't afford.  I can appreciate Porsches and Ferraris but they are way out of my range so I don't even tinker with the thought of having them.  I don't entertain in my mind what isn't realistic.  (Most of the time anyway.  )

He's in a Mopar restoration shop?  That's like a diabetic working in a candy store, very frustrating!  Maybe he get's his fill of Mopars there?

Hi Jesse,
I don't know you or your history here as I am new to this site. But from your handle, I think you know where the greatest source of all hope & joy comes from. I do. Even in that, it doesn't stop life from sometimes kicking us a few times. It took me 16 years to get another "E" body car. I love it, but it's not where I derive my greatest joy. So without me getting bumped for discussing the "R" subject, I will pray for you! Look up. Keep your focus up. Think about the "reason for this season" & have a splendid Christmas!! Be patient. There may be a "sleeper" in a garage just down the street from you just waiting to be discovered & "given" away by some old grandma that's tired of looking at it!!
