Will this combo work ???
« on: December 20, 2006 - 10:23:26 PM »
I am ordering new tire and rims tomorrow - Going with 275/60/R15 on the back with 235/60/R15 on the front. The rims will be 15x7 w/ 3.75 bs on the front and 15x8 w/ 4.5 bs on the back - Will this work on my 71 Challenger ???

that should easily fit , you probably need a 4" BS on the rear though

4.5" will be fine. You can just sneak 275/60s on a 15x10" rim with 5-1/2" BS.
That's about is big as you can go with that tire size and stock set up.

I run 4-1/2" with 275/60/15x8" on my Challenger & Cuda with stock set up.

Thanks, You guys probably don't even know how comforting it is to have experts like yourselves to go to for questions like this. At one time I would have never even thought of ordering something like this online. This is going to cost around 1600.00 and I would be worried until I got them on the car. Here is a picture of the rim that I decided to go with.

I don't care much for the newer styles of wheels coming out these days, I'm more of an old school kind of guy. That being said, those wheels are GOOD looking wheels and probably one of the best designs I've seen in a while. They are going to look good on your car. :2thumbs:

Thats a great looking wheel, but I would go 17''x8 with a modern wheel. It's not to big and not to small and will help the car handle better.
I just put a set of Foose 17" on my Chally.

The Nirous II from Foose is the exact wheel that I had originally picked out, but I could not get the backspacing that I wanted. If I went with the 17 inches I would have had to go with a lower profile tire and I prefer for the rear tires to have some meat.

I'm running that exact wheel tire size combo on my Challenger and so I my brother. No clearance issues.
