So while you were relaxing over Christmas...
« on: January 03, 2007 - 05:44:58 PM »
I pulled the 318 out of my car, cleaned up the engine bay, dropped in and hooked up my new 360.  After killing the old battery to set the timing, and replacing the starter twice (long story), here's the resulting idle.  Nothing like open headers to wake you up.  It sounds like thunder!

Those smallblocks can really sound good.  I remember when my Pontiac buddy came over one day and I was loading the race car on the trailer. I started it  and gave it a little blip on the throttle.

Really woke him up.  He said "what do you have in there again" ?

360?   :grinyes:

Thanks guys!  It's a 360, 30 over, Keith Black Hypers, Comp Cams 284, stock valve train, 308 heads, weiand stealth intake and a holley street avenger to top it off.   It's about 4 times more horsepower than the 318, but that's what makes it fun :)  Now my incentive for finishing the rest of the car quickly is to start that motor.

Hey 73318, I will be more than happy to put that engine in my Cuda for awhile so we/you/us can break it in. Atco Raceway is open too.....
