    The "quiet" drives are loud and annoying. I'd rather hear the thrust of the exhaust.

    No such thing as a quiet gear drive...

    I think they are very similar to a centrifical blower whine. I like the noise from a good one. It's not too bad realy, but the ones made to be noisey just sound like somethings' not right in there...lol.
