Pretty cool these new RB/Hemi blocks coming out!
« on: December 30, 2006 - 12:09:45 PM »
http://www.raybarton.com/blocks.html

Price quoted are for the race blocks.

Production blocks are to be a bit less, avail. both in iron and aluminum.

Since the al. versions will be less than the iron ones, I see no reason to get an iron block unless you need it for FAST or Nats Gold cert. or something.

My cuda was an original Big Block car and I went with a supercharged stroker small block just to save weight for
auto-X and now I found out about these affordable aluminum big blocks. AAAHHHHHHH!!! :banghead:

So, anyone out there want to buy a low mileage '71 360 block, Hughes forged 4.00"stroker kit w/ .030 360 pistons,
and a superchargerstore.com D1-SC kit .......... J/K. I could build a helluva big block for what I got in my stuff.

Yep, saw those on another board a couple weeks ago.  I figure by the time you have all the extra machine work done to it, it would cost a fortune.  Does anyone know why there is only one cooling passage on the block shown?  Do they only ciruculate water through the heads or something?

Supposedly according to World, these blocks come FULLY MACHINED!

AND they're all WATER blocks!  Prolly the prototype shown doesn't have all the water passages showing.

Looks like they flow into the heads first, then back and down, and out the front of the block. It's a race block shown. I just hope they have a factory replacement block without all the race stuff on it, and without the race price. I need the lower end and the modified pickup setup, but with factory mounts and bell pattern, and factory cooling arrangement. Sure beats caps, and caps and girdle time bombs.
