my cousin who is restoring a 67 hemi charger is also one of our mopar brothers and asked yesterday how much it would cost to rebuild a hemi engine inside and out and i didnt know what tp tell him so i said ooo probally 15grand is this a accurate guess?   oo yeah and btw my mopar vidoe i made is on the first page on google type in "mopar" on videos  its made by hemified productions

I can tell you thats about what a crate HEMI (426) runs. But finding one in stock is another story...

If you have the block, the rebuild is much less. If you don't have the block, UGH....

A stock rebuild by a guy who knows Hemis will cost around $8K near me. If it needs rockers, add a lot more...lol.

I guess I'm ignorant on this subject, but why does it cost so much to rebuild a hemi vs a 440?

they sell less Hemi Pistons Valves ETC so the parts cost more & the rockers are generally over $100 each x 16 + the rocker shafts @ $100 x 4 + rocker pedestals at $500 / set

Because the parts boxes all say "hemi"    Plus, the cranks are harder material, the assembly has some special steps, and that rocker system is hell to get set up "right." Not to mention the heavy table or special stand to assemble it on. None of my stands would hold an iron Hemi safely.
