fueltank strap bolt

I removed my fuel tank and just my luck broke one of the strap bolts.
I can see no way to remove or replace the bolt, short of drilling a hole thru the trunk pan.
anyone deal with this?

the bolt is a J bolt , lift it & twist & it will pop out of the body , easily replaced unlike the newer mopars

Yes I need one...(although the one I broke is a bit shorter)
...as far as twisting...I have tried everything I can think of and the head is larger than the hole...but will try again...now that I am no longer on vacation...it might work - lol

Treefrog . . . it sits in a groove so slide it to the top and there should be room for it to exit the slot. To remove the strap, you need to twist that to get it out, not the bolt I believe.
I saw one yesterday in my extra bolts, let me look again.

the slot that the bolt sits in has a large hole at the top (lift the bolt and it should come out)
Problem the flat head is Much larger than the largest part of the hole....
I truely see no way to get it out short of drilling a hole thru the trunk and dropping a new one in....then just plug it with a small plug

I will be trying this evening no doubt!
I want that thing replaced...
then again I need a sending unit(and gasket), a tank, filler grommet, and to clean the filler tube...but it would suck to get the tank and not be able to install it.

You R Da Man!
Thanx!
I still have to get the Tank/Sending/Filler Gromet, so there is no major rush.
Maybe I will bolt a boat tank in the trunk - lol
