904 vs 727 trans - DS length
« on: January 08, 2007 - 05:46:13 PM »
Originally, I had a S6/904/7.25 driveline in the 70 Challenger.  It will be a 440 (69 Imperial), 727 (mid 70s C body) and an  8.75 (3.23 SG) in the near future.  I need to get a driveshaft for the car.  What is OEM length of the driveshaft for car with 727 and 8.75??   thanks

fwiw:  car will also get disks up front along with F&R sway bars.

I don't know the exact length but you can always get it together and measure from the rear end to the tranny to see what you need.  :2thumbs:

If you have your old 904 driveshaft you usually have to shorten it about 4 inches. (but i would measure the distance with both yokes in place.)
