Convertible Conversion?

Can you figure out why Cudas are more expensive than Challengers?   When they were produced, Chrysler marketed the Challenger as the more expensive "Luxury Toy" of the two.  Now the Cuda is.  I know I lean toward the Cuda myself, because of the look.  

Anyone?

It all comes down to looks, the Cuda is a better looking car. The proportions are near perfict and the car looks good from any angle. The Challenger is a great looking car but man is it long, I read somewhere that it was the longest muscle car built. I don't know if that was just for it's 70-74 production run or it is longer than a GTO, or 442. But I've owned both of those GM cars and my Chally feels as long as Caddy.

Whoa . .  you may get some argument out of that statement.        I can't believe that the Challenger is the longest muscle car . . doesn't seem possible.  Now them Superbirds are long cars!!

i talked 2 the people doing those conversions on the net and its nothing more then chopping off the roof and add subframe connectors(from ebaty or whereever etc.) and hemi torque boxes and then getting a convertible top frame and other vert stuff and viola instant convertible

The way to go is buy a junk conv If you can buy one cheap? I lucked up and bought mine for $400.00 off ebay. you can go to the projects section and I Have some pics there how I converted mine. Its a older thread so you will have to go back a page or too. But its not that hard to do I work a full time job and run a junkyard on side and took my car form rusted junker 71 conv and nice 73 Challenger to what you see in end pics in just under 20 days.

No argument, the Challenger is a great looking car, I own one. But the Cuda is a better looking car from a design stand point. If I'm wrong, then why are they so popular with collectors who will pay millions to own the rarest of the Cudas and the don't for the Challengers. Just my 2 cents, I love them both.
The artical that I read must of forgot the Superbird, bc I did too. But I think the comment of the Challenger being one of the longest muscle cars, was with the introduction of the 08 Concept. I have to check. But it was interesting.

Its all personal opinion, some days I like cudas better, other days challengers.  A black aar or a 71 cuda would be the ultimate to me.  However always loved just a plain white challenger.  Yeah no way the challenger is the longest muscle car... maybe pony style car.  I have one between a 68 and 69 runner in my garage now... so I know first hand

Which car sold more when new?
 I'm not going to argue which was nicer, but I do think the buying public bought more Challengers than Barracudas when new.
