New door panel wood grain question
« on: January 21, 2007 - 09:13:58 PM »
Has anyone ever put the repop wood grain on their door panels? my car is an RT/SE so it has the special edition script on them, it looks like you'ld have to grind the studs off the script from the back but then how would you replace it? maybe some kind of glue? my wood grain looks pretty nice so unless I get an answer on how to do it and it worked I think I'll leave well enough alone.

I think you have it right. I can't see how else you would get them off.

When I replaced my woodgrain inserts I used a pliers on the back tri-star studs and twisted it to make the studs circular.  Then they were easy to remove.  To put them back, I pushed them through the new woodgrain insert and put a little dab of hot glue over the stud to hold it in place.  It worked well.
