I've got a late 70's 360 in a 72 challenger. My problem is an oil leak(well maybe 2).The first leak I know about is the oil pan, cheap chrome oil pan leaking from the valleys. The other leak(s) I don't know, but the mess it makes is killing me.If I do a fairly short city drive(about 1\2 hour)almost no mess (just a little seapage through my cap style breather). If I do a hwy cruise, when I get where I am going the engine bay is sprayed with oil.I figure it might be leaking and being blown by the fan.The closest point to the fan I see oil is on the timing chain cover, the oil tends to be mostly spayed top to bottom passenger side and top firewall driver side.I thought the intake could be the culprit, but I resealed and no change.new valve cover gaskets no change. Could my mess be caused by the oil pan leak???also about the breather seapage, I was told too much crank case pressure could be the cause,I ran a pcv valve and no change. My oil pressure at startup is about 65psi,when runnig before operating temp70-75psi, when running warmed up 45-50psi and when idling (550-600rpm)while warm10-15psi. I've been told my oil pump is a high flow low pressure,10-15psi at idle is fine???(been that way for two years never heard a knock or anything).hope this is enough info, thankyou for any help.
