Rear Konis on E-Body
« on: January 02, 2007 - 09:46:15 PM »
Just bought a set of Konis and on the rear set found the diameter of the lower mounting hole too small for the factory stud.  Called Koni about it and they told me I'd have to drill out the mounting bushing, but to be careful about screwing up the rubber ... thanks a lot!  For $120 each, you'd think they'd fit ~  Anyway, an 11/16 drill bit did the trick, leaving about a millimeter of bushing left.

I had the same problem.  After some convincing I got my local machinist to drill them out.  Like you said, when you pay that bit extra you don't expect to have silly issues such as this.

I keep going back to the XV idea with there special shocks.  The only thing stopping me is the money (or lack thereof!).   :money:
