I wonder how much they would have charged to  R & R and completely rebuild it? You are right, they should have called. I always do when a job is more than was talked about. I wish you were in Missouri so I could have helped you more. :dunno: I would like to know what hole he says was drilled wrong.

 :iagree:
I don't think I'll be going back to this place at all, or recommending them at that.  This was the shop I first took it to when it was slipping and they said about $900.00 for a rebuild, without a kit.  Add another $125.00 for a kit.  But I agree about the hole, I'd like to know for my own benefit and for next time.  :2thumbs:

Ok, I picked it up from the shop today and it shifts beautifully!  Terry, I can't thank you enough for all your help and guidance through this project, it was invaluable to me.   :worshippy   :worshippy

The shop fixed a lot of "small" things that my car needed in lue of the mishap explained earlier.  All in all, things are great.  The car shifts awesome between all gears, but when you get on it, it spits out a good 2nd gear chirp and there's a good thump into drive.   :burnout: The car also bakes the tires off the line now, which it never did before either.  :2thumbs:  :burnout:

All in all, it took approx. 1 month to do in my spare time.  A couple of days I worked 8+ hours on it (over x-mas break) but I also took a week off waiting for the parts to be delivered, so it's a wash in my book.  What an AWESOME experience this has been.  :jumping:  :cooldancing:  I can't say how happy I am that things worked out and my beast is back up and running.  Now I can take my daughter for a ride in it again!

T, what kind of Pizza do you guys like?  I'll get some delivered to your place tomorrow, on me!  Let me know what kind and the time and I'll get 'em there!  :2thumbs:

Congrats, Bob.  Glad you got the car running like it should.  :burnout:
I could have warned you about those cables being too close to the header.  I ended up burning up a starter & battery because of that.

I totally forgot about the cable on the headers to tell you the truth.  I think I was too excited to get the car  running that I forgot to place it right.  No big deal, atleast it's tied up now and not an issue.

Next up, the engine......anyone got a 440 they want to donate to me?  :naughty:  I'll take one in any shape.  It'll be torn completly down and rebuilt just like I did with the transmission.  :2thumbs:  Although this one will take a little longer due to $$ constraints.

T, you still thinking about writing some type of manual or book on how to rebuild a 727/904?  If so, I'll save my pics incase you want to use any of them. :2thumbs:
