vin numbers
« on: December 09, 2006 - 01:14:43 PM »
Hello everyone, I have a 73 cuda I bought when I was fifteen in Ontario Canada. I just moved it to Tucson Az. I guess it is missing a lot of stuf, first question? Does anybody know where all the numbers are suppose to be? I want to restore the car and they told me at the border probable do to some repairs some are not there, but because I had documentation that I was infact the second owner I was allowed to bring it acrose the border besides I haven't seen the car in twenty years. I had move to the states and it was in my parents garage for that amount of time. Anybody where there suppose to be?

The obvious place is the matal pad on the corner of your dash. The VIN also appears on a sticker that is on the driver's side door. You should see it there, when you open the door. It should also be on your fender tag. The ending sequence of numbers in your VIN appear on your cowl area by the windshield, and your radiator support.

Welocome aboard here, by the way.

Is there any where else? Drivers is not the original door either the two front fenders or the rad support! Rust was one problem and I think it was hit on the front corner when it was fairley new, but it was repared with all new factory parts in 77 and you cant really tell! :dunno:

Look on the cowl directly in front of the driver's area. You should see a number stamped into the metal. It should match the last sequence of numbers located in your vin. Welcome to Tucson and C-C. I live in the NW part of town. Sal

The fender tag is screwed to the drivers inner fender(apron). Also check for a braodcast sheet, there are many locations for this-under the back seat,in the front seat, taped to the top of the glovebox, under the carpet,in the headliner.

The other place now mentioned above is the radiator support.
