It's always nice to help a bud out!! Hope he doesn't lose his thumb.
I got a frantic phone call one night from my best firend's wife. She could barely talk. It seems that she had gone out to the garage to check on hubby. Hubby likes his beer and was pretty hammered as he had been out working on cars all day (it was a saturday). He has a very large detached garage & it was in the dead of winter, so he had the bay doors shut and the wood stove cranking. He was fixing the exhaust system on his brother's 4 wheel drive. He started the truck and rolled under in on his creeper to check the welding integrity. He didn't open the bay doors as he figured it would only take a minute. BUT he rolled under the truck on his creeper and fell asleep!! The carbon monoxide built up and his wife found him unconscience and foam coming out of his mouth. Fortunately the truck had cut off. The fumes were so bad that it killed his dog that was in the garage with him. The paramedics worked on him for a good 15 minutes trying to get his heart started and transported him to the ER intensive care unit. When his wife called me, they already had him stable, but in a coma and didn't know if or when he regained consciousness if he would be brain damaged as they didn't know how long his brain had been oxygen deprived. It was late at night & I knew there was nothing that I could do immediately but pray. I went to the intensive care first thing in the morning and to my total AMAZEMENT my buddy was sitting up on the edge of the bed tying his shoes getting ready to check out!! It seems that he got a double wammy as the alcohol caused him to pass out under the truck, BUT it also supressed his vital functions to the extent that it actually saved his life. Figure that one out!! He doesn't drink any more!!!!
