Little Help With Building My Front End
« on: November 06, 2006 - 11:06:28 AM »
Ok well since the cuda got wrecked, I'm weighing my options on what I can do up front. Right now it is bone stock.

*Looking to do a Springs N Things Rubber Front End Kit (Their kits have Moog/TRW/Norris McQuay parts) for $185
         Include
"Outer tie rod ends, upper & lower ball joints, upper & lower control arm bushings, sway bar end links, strut rod bushings (where applicable).  You can   add inner tie rod ends, adjusting sleeves, idler arm, pitman arm, cam bolts, shaft kits, centerlink or anything else at a special add on price. "
*'Offset' UCA bushings worth getting? Anyone have a p/n as well?
*For $75 I can get the C-body 11/16ths Tie Rods Ends/Adj - That worth while as well? Or for what I use it for, is stock stuff just fine?
*New Cam Bolts - $40
*HD Struts (drivers is bent) $50/ea
*Pro- Suspension Tool Set $170
*Looks like their Poly Lower Pivots are $30/ea

Any suggestions/comments/concerns? Drivers LCA is bent, so i have to find another one. Poly bushing the best way to go down there? From what i've read atleast..

the offset bushings do help with adding caster you can use a pair or all 4 , a pair should be lots though , I do have the part# as I have the parts but they are packed right now , I will post it if I can find the part #
Definatly upgrade to the C body tierods & sleeves
HD struts & poly bushings are recommended
I like poly lower pivots , firmer feel to them
you could weld the plates top the LCA to stiffen them up as well

Pair should be lots? As in cost, or difference in caster?

Thanks

Wherever you get them, get it as a complete kit, and stay away from piecing it together.  You'll save a lot of money that way.  Mancini has a complete MOOG kit, its pretty pricey, about the same as a poly kit.

Let me know how it turns out.

I disagree with getting a kit. I got all my stuff from rockauto  dot  com.  I got tons more stuff all moog and spicer and rotors  pitman arm  idler arm and wheel bearings ect and still beat the kit price. also got inner tie rods and just a bunch more.

ROCK AUTO has really good prices even after paying shipping I saved $15.00 each on lower ball joints compared to any local auto parts store around here. :naughty:
