Any advice on changing out door glass?
«

I'm getting ready to put my new door glass in and the TSM directions would make more sense if they were in Chinese. is there a best way to do it without screwing up the adjustments or gutting all the hardware out of the door? I doubt there's an easy way but there's always a best way. thanks

you need to remove the fuzzy window adjusters , remove the rear guide as it interlocks with the plate bolted to the glass , remove the plastic stop pins that go through the glass , I can `t remember what has to be done with the front guide ?

My brother says to release the tracks, first. Have another person there. You will need another set of hands. Pull the 2 window tracks out, pull everything out of the way before you try to get the glass out. Take the felts and slides out.

The hardest part with E-body glass is it's large without the vent window, so make sure you keep it balanced while bringing it through the window opening. There's plenty of metal between that area to leave a nice scratch if you aren't watching it closely.

The original glass in my driver's door exploded; something came loose and the glass stressed when I was raising it. Back then I could still get replacements in a wrecking yard, fortunately!
I still have a few cubes of it down in the bottom of the door, and found some more when I pulled out the carpet...

On the vent window... those things are a pain too
You can't win with any of em. Just be patient, before you know it, there wont be any internals left! Thats the way I do it, other than latch junk.
