Cast exhaust manifolds & serious power?
« on: February 21, 2007 - 04:02:11 AM »
My question is that is there anybody out with cast exhaust manifols & serious power?

I have TF 727 and 3.55 gears. New engine will be as follow; 383 block, 3.75" crank, H-beam rods and Ross ft-pistons. I want to get my Cuda in 12's and still keep my cast hp -manifolds and resto look. How about heads, cam and converter?

Thanks Pepe

I built an all stock looking 440+6 with manifolds & made 520 gross HP on the dyno , similar powered cars are well into the 12s but not low 12s

Wouldnt a step up in gearing really help? Like 3.90 wouldnt that really help?

I wanna keep my 3.55 gears.

CP, have you built engines with cast iron manifols & Edelbrock/Indy heads?

The big blocks make torque & I have not found very sifgnificant difference with gearing , I have built 3 engines with eddy heads all with headers & none making stellar power so either I am getting great power from Iron heads which 90% of my customers prefer to use as they are doing street resto builds or I am missing something with the eddys heads as I have yet to see significant gains using them , with the indy heads once you are serious enough to get them you won`t be bolting manifolds on them in 99.9 % of the builds
