better brakes

I have 72 Challenger discs on my 70 wich are 10". Would I see any improvement going to the 11.75" disc from a later car.

I'm wondering about doing this also to my 74.

Like what parts are needed to do it. Where do I find the caliper adapter bracket? Are the calipers the same?

I went from the 10&7/8 disc to the 11&3/4 and saw a big difference. I would say it is definately worth doing!

Too bad you can't use the '70-'72 spindles.  :(
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

Can you expand on this?  I have all the parts for the 10.78 swap, I'm also curious if it's worth the extra time and money to go to 11.25.

i have a set of 'doba spindles, new 11 3/4" rotors, and some slider calipers ready to go on my cuda when i get it back.  :dogpile: :naughty: :working:

To start with, the bigger rotors are 11.75, not 11.25. I've got a 392 hemi in my Cuda and it weighs about 100 lbs. more than a 440! I had to do a hard stop from 50 MPH when the smaller rotors were on the car and it was an eye opener to say the least! The car felt like it was never gonna stop. I then went to the salvage yard and got the parts to change over to the 11.75 rotors (caliper brackets and rotors) and put them on the car. I reused my calipers (they are the same for either size rotor) and pads and just had the rotors turned. I then took the car out and did another hard stop from 50 MPH and the difference was like night and day. I guess I would describe the difference as being like making a stop with hot, fading brakes as compared to making a stop with fresh cool brakes.

Late B-bodies. Such as cordobas, read the article someone posted the link on above. If you have a 70-72, grab the doba spindles too. if a 73+ you just need the rotors, dust sheilds and the caliper adapters.
