In my opinion it would be best for our hobby and the integrity of our cars if these chinese parts did not exist.

I Hate to say it but this is the way of world now.....I would love to have these parts made in the USA but then would complain about how much they would cost...think about it, 2 years ago none of these parts were around, and finding good parts was hell, so someone is filling a need with a decent part, which is good and I get to work on the car more........my old job moved overseas and that stuff will not change, cheap labor, parts, and no environmental laws, right or WRONG, thats what is happening......

I contact buyers in manufacturing companies everyday and almost every week I am told by somebody "We've moved our manufacturing overseas now."  "You'll have to contact the new buyer there now." The reshaping of manufacturing in America has changed dramatically. Because of that, we will likely see more of it happen. More parts will be made there for cars even more in the next years ahead.  :banghead: :swear:

Look at 90% of the parts you buy from NAPA or anywhere else, not much made in the USA anymore. I've bought about $1000 worth the stuff from Peter and I am 100% satisfied with everything .

For what its worth, PG Classics is only part of a larger group/company/consortium that is making these parts. The other 2/3rds of the operation are here in the US and you don't need to deal with shipping stuff across the border. I don't want to copy paste the whole explanation (because I didn't write it) but here's some helpful information:

Thanks for the link Troy, it give a lot of insight to the work behind the parts, and I have a whole list of parts to get and will try them, also I think its great that some of this stuff is being produced again and being licened by DC is a good thing!! might be better then paying for overpriced junk parts that keep getting harder to come by.... :2cents:

You're welcome guys. For what it's worth, I have actually had a chance to meet all three of the guys behind the scenes but have only met Todd in person. He was a really nice guy and I was able to spend a fair amount of time discussing the manufacturing of the parts and their future plans. I missed Peter at MoparFest only because it rained half the time and I wanted to see as many cars as I could when it was dry. Plus, I didn't even know who he was at the time. I missed the BE&A space at the Mopar Nationals because I ran out of time and had to see some other vendors. In case you can't tell, I'm not big into the swap meet scene and I usually spend my time at cars shows looking at cars. It's only recently that I've taken more of an interest in the reproduction part market because I'm getting closer to needing all that detail stuff to get my cars finished.

Don't know your name. Would you have not been better to simply get the primered mirrors chromed at your nearest plating shop? That chingy chrome is suspect most of the time anyway and they would be easy to do as they are non-remotes so no unhooking of cables needed. That way you could write them off.
You can complain to the Provincial Government Consumer Protection Branch if you like. They may lean on them somewhat if enough people complain. That would be New Brunswick they are in??
