Muscle still flexing
Classic muscle cars from the 1960s and early '70s are still the main attraction at these auctions, however.

A car purported to be the most valuable muscle car in the world will be crossing the auction block at a competing RM Auctions event in nearby Phoenix on Friday afternoon.

That car, a 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda convertible, is estimated to be worth as much as $5 million. It is one of just 11 Hemi 'Cuda convertibles produced that year.

The market is crashing!  The 71 hemicuda ragtop only brought 2.2 million!

If you're watching B-J, the #'s are not as wild as last year, but the real heavy hitters dont cross the block til tomorrow.

I thought the 69 hemi bee for 95K was a fair buy...that AAR with non-numbers motor for 125K...whoa!

I think that its a little too early to read into the bids on BJ so far. Like Hemi said the real heavy hitters are coming across the block tomorrow and a lot of people are waiting on those.

I want to see what that unrestored, 76 original mile, 70' Hemi Cuda will bring. There was a small article in MPG about it a while back.

I gotta say NIKKI'S lookin better all the time!  :faint: I think tonite will be the eyepoper. BTW Just look at the total sales volume. Numbers are way ahead of last year. I curius to see what will trickle down (price wise) to the MECUM sales this spring - Chicago Area. Should be really intresting!  :grinyes:
70 Chally R/T Convertible- Yes she's really got a HEMI, no she's not a Charger!

Yes indeed, and add 18% to the pocket of BJ, well, he does have to pay expenses  :roflsmiley: . But for phone bids and proxy bids the rates increase from the 8% seller and 10% buyer rates. The guy knows how to make money, and he has no overhead or stock to contend with at the end of the fiscal year. Makes you wonder what the auctioneers and helpers commisions are.............?

I was amazed that a 56K LS6 Chevelle all done perfect was under 70K, same as a 70 GTO Judge in mint shape. They tried to sell Von Dutchmans bus for tons and it got 30-40K. They have to realize buyers want mint muscle cars with rare numbers matching drivelines. I think the 70 Challenger ragtop with date coded hemi was the going price. Done right and nice...  :2cents: Barrett-jackson  also advertised a 70 Chevelle ss and the vin showed it was a clone-shame on them. You pay 18% fees and they don't even do thier homework. Sure the onus is on the buyer, but shame on tBJ. Getting lazy and concentrating on the $$$ not the product
