When I bought my Challenger (basket case) the owner said that it was a complete car just totally disassembled. When I got it home I found out that the radiator was missing. Hassled the seller---long story---no radiator. Went with an aftermarket radiator. Works just fine. I would like to have an original radiator that I could get recored just to have the correct numbers on the top tank. Saw a company in MCG (Glen Ray I think) that advertised correct radiators (for $1,195.00
) and have also seen a couple on eBay for equivalent funds. I am curious about the tank numbers that I should have on my radiator if it were original. My books say that the top tank numbers should be 2998 958 but these folks that advertise have different numbers on the top tanks but claim they are correct for my car. I don't want to spend that much money for a radiator that is not right. ( I hate to spend it for a CORRECT radiator
). Here is the rundown on my car. 1970 Challenger R/T, 440 Six Pack, Hemi 4-speed, Dana 60 wt 3.54, Power Steering, Drum Brakes. I don't think any of the other details about the car would matter (ie: Color, etc.). Anybody out there that can confirm my numbers or support other numbers. Great forum---glad to be back.
