4 heaters to heat my shop
« on: February 10, 2007 - 07:54:01 AM »
Waiting for it to warm up now. I had to use 2 kerosene heaters, 1 electric heater, and 1 propane heater today to get the chill out of the air so I can get a good days worth of work today.  Anybody else having to go through extra fuel and electricty just to have some heat to play in your shops? I will be so glad when I get my concrete floor and a lift installed. Life will be better in there then. Welp, it's been 30 minutes, time to go play
Install trunk lock
hook up drive shaft
line up door, fender and install door handle on passenger side
Oil prime engine
Hook up a few wires under the hood
Hook up brake pedal under dash
hook up brake line to rear end
bleed brakes.
put front wheels on and set car on ground.
I got 6 hrs to do this then take the rest of the day off for wifes birthday dinner and gifts, leaving out tomorrow for a month

See everyone on the road

Mines finally fully insulated and the oil furnace keeps it at 50 till I go out there to work and turn it up nice and toasty!

With heat above and on one wall of my garage plus a fridge and freezer in there it stays around 50,, fully insulated and drywalled, I'll just flip on the quartz lights and in about an hour its near 70 but am thinking of picking up a 14k btu electric heater that hangs from the ceiling with coils and fan,,,
Happy birthday Mrs Al :woo:  Mr Al, where are your travels taking you to this time?

Thanks Clown. I did let my wife (Peggy) know that everyone said Happy Birthday from cc.c :2thumbs:

As far as work and travel goes. I fly out tomorrow in the morning to Seattle. Then drive up to Bellingham to the motel. Work In Blaine for a week or so, then drive through Oregon to Utah and work at Ogden for a week or so, then Sioux City for a few days to take my anual MSHA refresher and from there I am not sure. Hoping home. I hate driving in the snow, it sucks pulling my trailer with the dually.

only using one "small" plug-in electric heater. just enough to take the edge off on cold days. Have not really needed it the last few days though.

For sure the well insulated and heated garage is way nice, our thermostat stays at 45* and when we turn it up it's only a matter of about 10 minutes and she is toasty warm, not too bad for a 35X50 with 14 ft, peak. But boy I sure wish she also had the floor radiant heat too, that would make that concrete a lot nicer to lay on.  :2thumbs:

Al, ya have a safe trip buddy.
