I have an edelbrock highrise intake, which is just an open intake instead of it being like the stock intake with 4 holes for each barrel of the carb, do I need to get an adapter or am I good with just bolting it on?

it depends what you are trying to accomplish , an open adapter wil increase the size of the plemun which helps at high RPM , a 4 hole can increase response at the carb giving better feel at low RPM , a Phenolic can insulate heat from the carb
