Tubular Upper Control Arms
« on: May 15, 2007 - 08:32:38 PM »
I was looking at firmfeel's website at their tubular upper control arms.  They said,"A Firm Feel power box and a set of these arms will dramatically improve the way your car drives."  My question is why are tubular arms better then stock arms and will they provide a big difference in a fairly stock car?  I have a front sway bar, KYB shocks, 0.92 torsion bars with a 340, and all new rubber bushings and front end parts.

The advantage of the tubular arms is that they are lighter, stronger, and have additional caster built into them.  Stock arms may only get you 2-4 degrees of caster whereas the tubular arms can get you 4-6 degrees. The extra caster improves stability at speed which really changes the feel in the car. Combined with other alignment changes; camber change (0 to -.5) and a  toe change (0 to 1/16 toe in) the personality of the car changes dramatically. Combine that with a firm feel box and it is like driving a late model car as far is road feel and responsiveness.

I agree with HP2, even more if you have lowered your car any.
