I hope, either way you choose, it is the more lucretive choice. I'm not one to get mad when people build clones or tributes, they're fun and you are able to start with a body that is an empty canvas. So , you should do it the best you can, R/T or T/A/.

Clone market is all about color.  It doesn't matter which direction you go in concerns with RT or TA.  It mainly matters that you end up with a show stopper color combo.  Black always seems to bring the big money on muscle cars.  I'd go black RT, black vinyl roof, window louvers, black tail and hood stripes,  white interior, with a nasty 440 6 pack.    I would go high impact, orange, plum crazy, panther pink, with a T/A.  I also agree with the guy who said you should stay more true on a TA clone and you can be more liberal with a 440.

If you watch the real cars sell, T/A's tend to bring a little more money then RT's.  That doesn't mean that there is a direct relationship to the clone market.

A 340 is better to get out a drive,  the 440 impresses with it's horsepower.

I personally am looking for a 340 or 383 car to get out around town in cause I already have the 440.  The reason I bought mine, nice car, right money, and close to home.

Producing a nice challenger period should be the main objective.

Well, this topic is now moot - I ended up finding a numbers matching 1970 383 R/T that I am going to put my efforts into instead of the clone project   Special thanks to Challenger6Pak for helping me find and get the car  :2thumbs:   Unfortunately, the 318 car went bye-bye to help pay for the new project. :violin:

"New" car looks pretty clean but I'll know more when I really start to dig into it.  It too is an FK5 Burnt Orange car - obviously that's the color it's going to get again.  Looks like mostly original sheetmetal although there is some evidence of one repaint.  Unfortunately, no fender tag or build sheet though :(     Door pillars look rock solid, frame rails look perfect and the trunk does not even need replacing.  Car's been sitting quite a while and I doubt if the motor will fire.  I plan on yanking the engine out right away and seeing how it looks on the inside.  Also, the car did not come with any seats so I don't know what kind of upholstery was in it from the factory.  Will this hurt the value given that I cannot prove what type of seats I plan on putting in it?  Pretty sure it was a white viynl roof car from the factory and appears to have had a Burnt Orange interior - Burnt Orange dash pad (what's left of it anyways - looks like the surface of the moon) and burnt orange trim pieces were still in the car but it had black door panels.  Should I keep the interior Burnt Orange or  maybe go black or even white?

Questions, questions, questions...

Gary...i'm sad to hear you passed up on the clone idea. I was getting excited to see the final car for sale...If I knew I could have afforded a done TX9 black 4spd, T/A clone, I would helped you front the money to build it...but you'd have to sell it to me in the end..lol.  I've been keeping my eye open for a Tx9 AAR or T/A clone..but haven't seen one. Not sure why noone builds them because they look amazing.     Love to build one myself, but thats not a possibility up here unless I want to spend a boatload of money and at least a year doing it.   :banghead:

1Badfish - I haven't given up on building a T/A clone just not doing it right now with the car I had.  Should be able to come out a little better financially on the real R/T and figured I'll to a T/A clone sometime soon.  Wish I could have kept both projects but you know how that goes... You're right though  a done TX9 T/A is truly a beautiful sight to behold - talk a bout a sexy car  :naughty:

Here's Burnt orange and black with a burnt orange interior.  Anyone have a pic of burnt orange with a white vinyl top or burnt orange with white interior or burnt orange with a black interior?

That looks really nice.  I have always loved Burnt Orange w/ black striping.  I also like the black vinyl top w/ burnt orange interior.  It is definitely different.
