Schumaker Torque Strap

Just installed the Schumaker Torque Strap in my 499 Challenger..heres a few pics....went in real easy even with power steering...just bolted right in!

The 499 StROkEr had too much torque and was even lossening the solid motor mount...this new piece should work! it is real strong...

Looks great I have one sitting on the shelf for my new engine and was wondering if the power steering would get in the way....once again you answered my question before I even tackled it.

always kinda wanted to see one installed. looks pretty good,

they are expensive but do work very well and are a nice piece , they do work with the sway bar in place as well

I'll bet  you a cheeseburger that you break it. I've fixed 3 of those $80 wonders so far...lol. That little "C" shaped bracket is the weak link. They flex, fatigue, then break.One owner was told by Schumacher they updated the material. The new one was identical in shape and material to the broken one I removed. I stick with my turnbuckle and chain...lol. $8 in the local hardware store, infinately adjustable, and looks like a spiked collar on a bulldog.

Hmm, that sucks. If that is the case, then couldnt I just run the strap to one of the two bolts (or both) that are above my oil pump?

I am just gonna weld an extra piece on the sides to make it a lot stronger...........

Is there a reason that they didnt just connect it to the two points in the picture I attached. Maybe power steering pump or water hose clearance? I know the bolt size is smaller, but if you use both holes it should be just as strong. I will try to rig something up when I do mine and see if it is even possible....will probably be months from now but I will leave some feedback when I do.

Not all blocks have those bosses. I use a larger bracket that attaches to both front ears and gusset it when I fix them. That little thing just isnt enough if you have a strong engine and good tires. It does look trick though.
