Gas Fumes

Got my Challenger back yesterday from a winter-long "spruce up" and although there are no leaks on the garage floor, the gasoline fumes are quite strong.   They removed the tank and reinstalled the sending unit -- engine was pulled, carb kit,  etc.   Anybody got any ideas what could be causing these fumes?

look for signs of fuel on the intake manifold especially near the carb fuel line connection.

This will pop up when you get the car running.

Also, do you have a full tank of gas? I'm just wondering about a leak around the sending unit, or filler tube. If your tank isn't full, maybe just the vapors are getting out for now.

Mike:   I think that is it...... I filled it up on the way home!

If that doesn't work, id check your fuel vent line hoses.  If theres something wrong with the hose it vents a lot of fumes, more than you'd think

Hi    Mystery solved - found a pin-hole leak next to vent....... problem solved!
