What year 340 is this?

 :clueless:B23327.         The seller says it's a 68-73       Can anyone tell by the numbers what year this motor is?  I might pick it up if it's a '73.    The serial is 2780930-340-4   Thanks anyone

  I asked him,and those were the only numbers he had. Thought I'd see here.  I'm trying to find out more.

To find out more, have him look for three more sets of numbers. In no particular order;

The casting date will be on the passenger side of the block.

The VIN may be on the bellhousing mounting flange, on a raised pad on the passenger side of the block or none at all depending on the year.

The assembly date of the engine will be on the front of the block right below the driver's side head.

If he can get any or all of those numbers of the block it will definately help determine the date, maybe even the car it came out of.

We'll...   I found this on Den./Boulder craigs list.Auto Parts section using Mopar as keyword. It comes with tranny and axle.     Cast date:   6.26.70.   serial#2780930-340-4    #B23327.  There are pics of it.   Here's a number...Ryan @720-365-8726.             Mayby this should be in parts for sale      I'd help from here
