News to me. But then again a local guy bought muscle cars and stored them in semi trailers and welded the doors shut. Every body was wondering if this really happened then he passed away a year ago and some guys bought everything he had sight unseen. Turns out he had 2 LS6 chevelle, yenko camaro, 427 corvettes, numerous corvettes and other cars, along with hundreds of big block motors.

70,

The question now is,  if you could have just one car from the GM collection, which one?  I am torn between the 57 vette and the Yenko.

Yes, it was sight unseen, but he had an idea some of what was in there.  Just turned out to be a ton more than he thought.  :2thumbs:

The Yenko or maybe one of the LS6 Chevelles. He (Don) was talked about alot in local circles around here at cruises and shows but as a local trust me we were all guessing. It wasn't as much of a slam dunk as the article makes it sound. In hind sight it was a good deal but as Im sure you know the rumors were always around some claimed he had more some claimed he only had a couple of plain cars. And know one new where they were until after they where sold. Still a cool find.

We probably all know people who hoard away cars or parts with no intention of doing anything with them.  I know I guy that has a '66 Vette, two 32 Fords as well as other cars that never get touched.  My neighbor has a '63 Mercedes 190SL that was his Dads.  I've seen it out once in the last 13 years when he had to move something in the garge.  I think they take pleasure in just having the stuff even if they don't drive or show them.
