numbers decode on side of 4 speed
« on: May 21, 2007 - 09:03:00 AM »
What are these numbers?  And does it help tell me the ratio?

The pad reads   ob433365   is this a 70?   the rest reads  C  99129   H

PP 8333149      0004

I put an adapter ring on it to run a big block bellhousing.  I was told it was out of a cuda/barracuda, but don't know the year. My car is a 70 of course and it was a 318 / 4 speed from the factory, missing engine and transmission.  Now I have a 440-6 and this trans.

Anyone know what year this is and maybe the gear ratio?    thanks  ALAN

Thanks plumCrazy,  That was very helpful. I wish the trans was made in 69, my car was built the first month or so of 70 barracuda production. But it really doesnt matter. But one more question you may know. Is the gear ratio the same in both small and big block 4 speeds? And what might the first gear ratio be?

Thanks for your help....ALAN

318 -383 used the same ratio gear set , 440-426 used the 18 spline
first gears will be in the 2.5 -2.6 range

It is from a 1970 Barracuda or Cuda.
