Hemi headers, what are you guys running?
« on: March 02, 2007 - 06:47:25 PM »
Hi guys. The car in question is a 70 Cuda with a 572 hemi and Stage V raised port heads. What are my options for headers? I saw that TTI has some, but are unequal length primary tubes. Is anybody else making headers for this combo? I'm sure there are a few Stage V headed hemi e-bodies out there. Just want to know what you guys are running and what are the pros and cons of your particular header set-up? Jim

I have installed the TTi headers & that would be what I would use , the unequal lenght will not hurt significantly but the fit is awesome

i have the indy maxx aluminum block with Stage V heads, problems with the TTi headers and alterktion front rack & pinion motor mounts

the main bearing cross bolts hit the headers (2 1/4 primaries),  the motor mounts hit the cross bolts, the headers hit the power steering box, the headers hit the flaming river steering shaft universal joint

a good hammer fixed everything, now the starter has to go on, oops take the header off the driver side first & then install the starter - duh

Chryco, what block are you using? The TTI website says the headers can be used with the Schumacher motor mounts. This is where I have a problem. If you're running a shaker hood, I've heard the Schumacher mounts raise the engine about 3/4". So now the headers will work but the shaker will have interference heighth issues? I haven't bought any mounts yet, but was considering using the Arruza mounts. Are you guys running a shaker set-up also? Dang, Cudabuyer. You practically did everything the headers don't like. Rack and pinion, Indy Maxx (wide block). I'd just like to get some headers in there that are tried and true for a stock set-up with the difference being Stage V raised port heads. Thanks for all of the info. Jim

Arruzza told me his mounts only work on his hemis???   sorry if the info did not help,  we took the driver header off, put in the starter, put the header back on, now may need to loosen header again to insulate the starter - dooohhh
