Dye for seat backs
« on: March 03, 2007 - 05:26:32 PM »
Hey folks,
This site is a vitual library/tech lab for E-body folks! I love it!!  You guys have helped me sooo much  :clapping: and I hope I've been able to help a person or two!! I recently bought the SEM dye for my door panels (black) and kick panels ect. The next thing I wanted to do was restore the hard plastic seat backs. I have a '74 Challenger with original interior. It has grey cloth seats that have what looks like maroon ditto marks that run vertically across the seats. The back of the front bucket seats are grey vinyl and have a hard grey plastic seat back. The seat backs are what needs to be restored and I'm not sure if there is a factory correct color dye made for these seat backs. Does anybody out there have a Chally with this same color scheme that they have done a restoration on the seat backs?? What would be the correct dye (name?) for using and where would be a place to purchase it? I have seen a "charcoal" dye, but didn't know if this was correct? Thanks a TON in advance for any help!!
