Flash back Time
« on: March 24, 2007 - 04:06:41 AM »

I think this one ranks right up there with the likes of Stairway to Heaven and Turn the Page.

This was the year I graduated and I still own my Machine Head!

I don't remember much of the 70's since I was only born in 1976. However, I've always loved that song. It's nice to see a live performance that sounds as good as the recorded version. Unlike todays music that sounds good on CD, but sounds like hell live. Producers can make anybody sound good, reguardless of how little talent they reallly have.

My buddy thought the song 'smoke on the water' was old cousin walter, the fire engine guy. I get a chuckle everytime I hear it.

Wow, I had a red one like that, and of course the cool under dash 8 track player!  I still have a bunch of those old 8 tracks, still sound as bad as they ever did, but I see they sometimes go for quite a bit on eBay.

I don't remember much of the 70's either, but that's because I wasn't smoking just cigarettes if ya know what I mean. :smokin: One of my hot rod Mopar building buddies had a special relationship with the song "Smoke on the Water". He had wrecked or been in a wreck about 3 different times all while that song was being played on the radio. Since then if he was driving and that song came on the radio, he would pull his car off the road, stop, get out of the car and wait until the song was finished playing. :roflsmiley: That is no joke, but a funny & true story!! :smilielol:
