restoring Challey Rallye dash with RTE bezels

Hey gang..
Has anyone restored their Challenger Rallye dash cluster using the new RTE woodgrain bezel? I just recieved it today and it's awesome. The only drawback that makes me anxious is the curve forming of the bezel since it comes deliveried flat. Any experience would be appreciated.... It comes with instructions which I understand, but nothing's better than experience...

It's not difficult at all. Just use a little glue, and clamp it down overnight so it stays molded in the bend real good.

It's the actual "bending" it that makes me anxious..... lol Once bent, it's there..... I was thinking of using a wooden dowel or something that'll give uniform pressure all the way across the face. Obviously, I'd use something like a cloth between the bezel and tool....

Start on the right edge, and work your way towards the bend. It will be easier that way. Don't forget to fold those little tabs over too.

  I just did one a couple of days ago and that is exactly how I did it. came out fine.

Youll have to take the backing plate off your old ones or by the repo ones tha PG Classics sell.

The part that gets me is the instructions say not clueing the new bezel to the backing plate first, then install....... They want the backing plate on first, then push down the bezel.......... Guess I'm worrying too much........

I didn't glue the bezel to the backing plate until I made the curve and was satisfied with the fit. Also, I used my original as a guide for the bend and improved it a bit with a wooden dowel. Then I put the backing plate onto the plastic housing first and glued the bezel that way. Even bought a 6" C-clamp to go over the left 90 degree side so I could put pressure right in the corner. I was really paranoid about getting it right, so don't feel bad. If you do a thread search you'll find more info, this has come up before....Good Luck
