Opinions on which dash replacement is best
« on: March 14, 2007 - 03:42:30 PM »
Anyone have an opinion (dumb question, I know) on which replacement dash is best?  Just Dashes' full resto, Ultimate Rides' dash cap, or one of the cheap-o dash caps?

It depends on your taste and budget. You can get a nice dashcap for under $100. It looks nice, but feels like hard plastic. If you want to have your dashpad redone, or to buy a new one, then you are into the $600-$700 range. I bought a new dashpad from Ultimate Rides. No complaints.

My Just Dashes fit perfectly. I have no idea as to how it compares to the OE since mine was so bad, but the new one looks perfect, and fits perfect. I would do Just Dashes again if I had to buy another.......

With Just Dashes they have you send the dash to them and they vacuum form it on the frame.  With Ultimate Rides you just buy a pad and install it on the frame yourself.

Mike:  Is sending the dash to Just Dashes unnecessary, or is it a better product then the Ultimate Rides pad?

John:  I don't think Ultimate Rides has a website.  They sell through Ebay.  The username is viper something.  Just search for cuda dashes or shaker hoods - they repro those also.  They were one of the companies that supposedly supplied Nash Bridges Cudas.

Ultimate Rides is known as"nitrouspowered" on E-Bay. I did have to send them a POS core before they sent me my new dashpad.

Has anyone used Laysons Restorations to have their dash redone?

When I bought my dashpad from Ultimate Rides 2 years ago, I didn't have to send in a core, but  I was hit with a core charge of like $ 50.00.

I just put a new dash in my '70 Challenger from Ultimate rides and I'm very happy with it. I had to do some triming aroung the A/C vents but no big deal.  if you need one for a '70 they put the proper script logo in them now and it looks real nice.
